On Wednesday night, I was reminded of the reason that I came to Yellowstone. We caught a Townsend’s big-eared bat (Corynorhinus townsendii), a rare species to be found in the park and the first encounter for me.

Wow, that is eerie, I think I would have passed out. I have encountered bays before in my house and that was scary. Good for you though, getting to see such a rare species.
She is definitely unique and interesting in her own way! I’m enjoying the many first encounters with species that I never worked with before. Thanks for following my blog!
